Well, it turns out that PAM wasn't authenticating properly. I'm actually going 
to have to do a bit more work porting this stuff than I had originally 
thought, but it shouldn't be too big a deal now that I know exactly where the 
problem is. Once I have that all fixed up (including porting the PWDB stuff 
that Cobalt was using, since FreeBSD uses something else) , it shoudl be 
fairly trivial to get the whole thing up and running correctly (as I know the 
UI already talks to CCE just fine.

A definite thanks to Mr. T. Takasaki (for having the same problem as I do... 
almost :))
