Try setting up the BIOS to use hyper threading.
Then do a yum update and reboot.

You may have to do a restore to get it to work, not sure.

I do jnow that on our Tyan GT14, which use 2 2GB sticks
won't recognize the 2nd 2GB stick unless they have an SMP kernel
